The service

JP Names generates Japanese names and shows the readings and meanings of kanji. Names are generated for informational, educational and creative purposes and are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

Data accuracy

We make every effort to keep name and kanji data accurate, but the information may contain errors or omissions. Do not rely on the site for legal, official or medical decisions. Japanese name usage varies, and not every generated name will be appropriate for every real person.

Acceptable use

• You may use generated names freely in fiction, games, characters or personal projects.
• You may not scrape, bulk-harvest or systematically re-publish the site's data without permission.
• You may not use the site for any unlawful purpose.

Third-party data

Kanji meanings are derived from the KANJIDIC dictionary, which is licensed under the EDRDG License Agreement. Please refer to that license for any redistribution of that data.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, JP Names is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the website.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
